Responsible for the user experience & content strategy of 118.com (a 1 million visitor/mo website) and other websites for kgb.com.
I joined the two founders of Enable as employee #1 and spent 6 years playing a key role in building the business to a multi-million pound agency with 30 staff. I took full responsibility (including p&l) for all our solutions, building and managing the development and QA & support teams. I worked on exciting ecommerce, CRM and content management projects for big brands, including sites for Speedo (who, through smart use of natual SEO, we helped gain the most digital PR coverage of any sport brand during the Olympics), Next (where our redesigned site immediately saw a huge uplift in sales) and Mizuno as well as various B2B sites. Being in a start-up required me to wear many hats and perform many different roles. As well as my technical and managerial roles, throughout our growth I was hands-on throughout the full lifecycle of projects, designing clear, simple and effective user interfaces through wireframing, information architecture and other user centred design practices, as well as stakeholder and project management. I consistently helped our clients to deliver great results. So much so, that Enable was voted the UK's number one digital agency in the UK, ahead of 400 other agencies in Revolution magazine. As well as being the overall number one, we came first in most sub-categories, including our work with new technology, and our technical ability. * Responsible for delivery of projects on time and on budget * Played a key role in growing the business: 80-100% increase in turnover year on year * Process enhancement and education * Solution definition & specification, often co-ordinating work with third-parties * Content management, ecommerce and mobile platform development * Team management, recruitment, mentoring and training * Support the new business team with selling-in technology solutions to senior client stakeholders * Measure and report KPIs to rest of senior management team * Technical escalation point for senior client stakeholders
